Kollywood’s Lady Superstar aka Nayanthara enjoys a huge fan-base in the Tamil film industry. She is one of the rare actresses, who possess the rare combo of beautiful looks, great acting skills and genuine box office pull. While the gorgeous lady has impressed us with her acting skills in films like Raja Rani, Aramm, Imaikkaa Nodigal and others, you will be surprised to know that she was once approached for Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chennai Express. No, not for Deepika Padukone’s role but for the ‘One Two Three Four’ song, which was later filmed on Priyamani. The actress reportedly rejected the offer in a polite way and didn’t reveal the reason behind it.
Chennai Express emerged a blockbuster and till date, is the biggest hit of Shah Rukh Khan’s staggering filmography. The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, also featured Sathyaraj, Nikitin Dheer and Kamini Kaushal in pivotal roles. It grossed over Rs. 400 crore at the global box office.
On the professional front, Nayanthara was last seen Rajinikanth starrer Darbar, which costarred Nivetha Thomas, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar and Dalip Tahil in pivotal roles. It was helmed by Ghajini, Thuppakki, Sarkar and Kaththi Director AR Murugadoss. The actress will collaborate again with Thalaivar for Annaatthe, which will be helmed by blockbuster director Siruthai Siva known for delivering films like Viswasam, Vedhalam, Vivegam and others. The film also stars Meena, Keerthy Suresh and Khushboo in key roles. It is bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
Nayanthara also recently signed Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal, alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Akkineni in lead roles. The film will be directed by the actresses’ boyfriend, Vignesh Shivan.
