Popular Kollywood star Saravanan Sivakumar, who is known by his stage name Suriya, turns 45 today. In his illustrious career of over 20 years, the actor has delivered several money-spinners like Ghajini, Singam, Kaakha Kaakha and others. Despite being a huge star, Suriya is one of the humble celebs of K-Town. In the video, we see Suriya saying, “My first car was a Lancer. Appa only got that for me, during Chithi times. My salary was not so high at that time. It was a very beautiful car indeed.” We can definitely say that this video will bring a huge smile on the face of all Surya fans. On the professional front, Suriya will be next seen in Soorarai Pottru, which marks the first time collaboration of the star with director Sudha Kongara. It was being speculated that Soorarai Pottru is a biopic on Captain GR Gopinath who found Air Deccan. However, Suriya clarified that the film is not a biopic on him but is only inspired by few events in his life. Tamil and Malayalam actress Aparna Balamurali is playing the leading lady in Soorarai Pottru. It is co-produced by Guneet Monga, who is known for bankrolling films like The Lunchbox, Masaan and Gangs of Wasseypur. Soorarai Pottru also features Mohan Babu in a key role. Speaking about the director Sudha Kongara, this film will be her third directorial after Drohi and Irudhi Suttru. The latter was made as a bilingual in Tamil and Hindi with R Madhavan and Ritika Singh in lead roles. The film was later remade in Telugu with Venkatesh in lead role and Sudha herself directed it.
