Twitter compares gangster Vikas Dubey’s ‘fake encounter’ with Rohit Shetty’s film script, churns out hilarious memes!

Twitter is a place in which most significant news updates are turned into memes and that’s mostly a good thing. Gangster Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter today and meme-makers made some hilarious memes. Many felt that the encounter was fake and hence filmmaker Rohit Shetty, who has shown fake police encounters in his films, was featured in most memes. According to Uttar Pradesh police, Vikas Dubey was killed ‘while trying to flee custody’ on Friday after a police vehicle carrying him met with an accident. Dubey was being chased since the killing of eight policemen by his men in Bikru village near Kanpur a few days ago. Former DGP, Kerala, N.C. Asthana took to Twitter and questioned the encounter. He wrote, “Vikas Dubey killed? Really? The same stupid story, which they had for his aide Mishra. Tried to snatch weapon and run away! Only difference in script this time–the car overturned! Who in the world would believe in such an improbable story? Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha said, “Vikas Dubey deserved to die, but by hanging to death on orders of court and not at the hands of police. However justified their anger, has UP Govt lost faith in its cri[minal] justice delivery system? His access pics with top leaders despite his long criminal history shocking.”

Meanwhile, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed before the Supreme Court on Friday seeking CBI probe into the killing of five of Vikas Dubey’s aides by the Uttar Pradesh Police.

Talking about Rohit Shetty, the Sooryavanshi filmmaker facilitated eight hotels across the city for on-duty policemen to rest and have meals amid the coronavirus pandemic. The policemen of Mumbai thanked him for his sweet gesture.
