India is facing a number of critical issues at present. Besides the COVID-19 pandemic, we are also dealing with cross border tension with China. We lost 20 of our bravehearts at the Galwan Valley. While leaders are giving constant assurances, it looks evident that our Army men are on a constant vigil. National news channels have also been covering the matter to the hilt. Everyday we are shown images of camps, virtual maps, training areas and what not. Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla has raised a very pertinent question. With a number of channels covering the training of Ladakh scouts, he feel it is a compromise on national security. The TV hunk expressed his opinion on Twitter asking if TRPs were more important than national secuirty. Here is his tweet…
It’s so unfortunate to see newz channels show the training of Ladakh scouts …… for trps we can risk national security ?

Of late, people have been very critical of the behaviour of the electronic media. we saw the shameless behaviour of some news channels who literally barged into late Sushant Singh Rajput’s Patna residence to question his shattered father who had collapsed after the news. The coverage made social media furious and they slammed the national news channel for their heights of insensitivity. National security is a matter of concern and prudence needs to be exercised.
One of the prime examples is the Mumbai Terror Attacks of 26/11. Our electronic media covered every bit of the news that could have been used to aid the conspirators. Many celebs had called out the media at that time. Sidharth Shukla has been in favour of the TikTok ban in the country. He has said that he has never been on the application and this will give a chance to Indian companies to make something similar.
