Finally, Rashami Desai and Adhvik Mahajan’s short film, Tamas is out. Don’t worry this short film was shot while abiding by the rules of the lockdown. Adhvik Mahajan who was last seen in Divya Drishti plays Rishi in the short film while Rashami plays Sania/Saina. The film narrates the incidents of lockdown and the effects of the same. However, that’s not it. It also deals with Islamophobia, suicidal thoughts and helplessness, all of the above in a dignified manner.
It begins with Rishi watching the lockdown news having moved into his new apartment in Mumbai. He calls his mom and dad who are in Aligarh to meet his prospective bride. However, Rishi’s parents don’t know that he already had a girlfriend and intends to marry her. In a shocking turn of events, Rishi and his girlfriend break-up. He almost commits suicide. Enters, his saviour, Saina/Sania aka Rashami Desai. Rishi and Sania grow close to each other while talking through the walls between their apartments. What happens when Rishi meets Saina/Sania as he meets her post-lockdown is worth a watch.
Tamas is written and directed by Adhvik Mahajan and produced by Neha Adhvik Mahajan. Other casts include Sooraj Thappar, Vaishnavi Macdonald, Ridheema Tiwari and Mohammed Adil.
