Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru was scheduled to release in April but was postponed one a lockdown in the country was announced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was said to be a biopic on the life of Captain Gopinath, the man who pioneered the concept of low cost airlines in India. However, the actor denied the reports saying that the film is inspired by certain events from his life. Earlier, the Central Board of Film Certification has reviewed the film for certification and they were reportedly bowled over by Suriya’s performance in the film. They even called him to praise him for the film. Action-drama, Soorarai Pottru is directed by Sudha Kongana who made her debut with Drohi.
The music of the film is composed by GV Prakash and this is his first-time collaboration with Suriya. In April, GV had revealed that the album for the film has already been completed and have turned out to be quite well.
Meanwhile, it is being said that Soorari Pottru will release in theatres on August 15 which happens to be Independence Day. However, given the pandemic situation in the country, we have to see what the makers decide.
