The trailer and a few songs from the film have released. Sushant Singh Rajput has received a lot of praises for his performance. However, even Sanjana Sanghi has been hailed for her brilliant acting skills. Her performance has been excellent and fans are super excited to see the film. However, not many know that Sanjana Sanghi had made her Bollywood debut with Ranbir Kapoor. Yes, the Dil Bechara actress made her debut when she was just 13. She was seen alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the 2011 film, Rockstar.
Sanjana Sanghi played the role of Mandy Kaul who was Heer’s (Nargis Fakhri), sister. Her performance in Rockstar had been spectacular. Here’s a scene of Sanjana Sanghi from Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar:
Sanjana Sanghi had recently spoken about Mukesh Chhabra casting her for Rockstar through an Instagram post. She also spoke about working with AR Rahman in Rockstar as he had composed songs for the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. “At age 13, Mukesh found me performing on stage in my school in Delhi, asked me to ‘audition’ then & there itself, and went on to cast me as “Mandy” in Rockstar. Many magical things happened during Rockstar, but one of the biggest was AR Rahman’s Sir’s music. If you’d have told me 10 years later he’d bless my debut film as a lead actor Dil Bechara, which will be based on my favourite novel The Fault in Our Stars – with HIS music on our album and background score.? That would not even be a dream I’d have ever dared to dream. Thank you @arrahman sir, for this eternal blessing, this is an absolute honor. I’ve pinched myself a million times since I first performed to your tunes almost two years ago, yet it just doesn’t sink in,” she wrote.
Talking about Dil Bechara, the film releases on July 24 on an OTT platform. The film has been directed by Mukesh Chhabra and is the official remake of 2014 Hollywood romantic drama The Fault in our Stars which is based on John Green’s popular novel of the same name.
