Rekha’s security guard was recently tested positive for COVID-19 and, accordingly, placed under quarantine. Naturally, healthcare officials are now keen to test all the others who’ve possibly been in contact with the guard, which includes the actress herself and he other staff members. However, if Bollywood news reports are to believed, then the legendary superstar has not only refused to get her coronavirus test done, but has also denied BMC officials entry into her home, inevitably obstructing them from sanitising it, too.
As per reports, when the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) reached Rekha’s home, her manager, Farzana, handed them her phone number and asked them to call back before carrying out their necessary procedures.“Take the number, call me and then we shall talk,” Farzana was quoted as saying by India TV.
Though not needed as per the new stipulated guidelines green lighted by no less than the central and state governments, the Chief Medical Officer of BMC H West ward, Sanjay Phude, complied out of respect for the cinematic legend. However, reports further state that when he called, Farzana simply declared that Rekha is doing fine and doesn’t all right and doesn’t want to be tested since she has confirmed not coming in contact with anyone who has contracted COVID-19. Conversely, the rules mandate that both she and the rest of her staff be promptly tested as the security guard who has contracted the virus was in proximity to them.
Not only that, sources close to the BMC have also revealed that sanitisation crew sent to Rekha’s house to their job were duly made to return from outside the door. A civic official, who wished to remain anonymous, disclosed that the actress has made it known that she doesn’t want the BMC to test her, and that she’ll get her own tests done for herself and her staff and submit the report to them.
