Regardless the kind of year it’s been for Bollywood, with only Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Malang succeeding at the box office till the time theatres were operational, and no more than Thappad and Panga being added to the list from a critical perspective, coupled with the lockdown that has kept cinema halls shut for more than three months now, one thing that hasn’t disappointed Bollywood fans are the trailers both of movies released and a few waiting to storm into theaters once things return to normal. Chhapaak was a classic case of a very well-cut trailer raising expectations far greater than a film is capable of delivering on, but then again, that’s what a trailer is supposed to do irrespective of whether a film can live up to the promise.


Malang brought director Mohit Suri roaring back to form, but the dye for that was cast with its dark, edgy, unpredictable trailer that also tapped into Disha Patani’s languid sex appeal, which together drew the audience to theatres in solid numbers during the opening weekend.

Though this eventually released on an OTT platform, its trailer did enough to get several people to log on to said OTT platform within the first two days of its release, with many even taking a temporary subscribing just for the sake of watching the film.


Though this is yet to release, its trailer has already created the necessary blockbuster impact justifying the magnitude and hype of the movie.
