The sudden and tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput sent shockwaves all over India. He was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14. Since then, there has been a constant demand from fans for a CBI Investigation in the matter. The demand on social media has been persistent for a month now. In fact, minister Subramaniam Swamy has asked famous lawyer Ishkaran Singh Bhandari to look into the matter. In a statement to MiD Day, Maharashtra’s Home Amit Deshmukh has said that Mumbai Police is competent enough to handle the case and there is no need for a CBI intervention. He said, “I have the tweets and the campaign. But I don’t think that a CBI probe is required. The Mumbai Police is competent enough to handle such cases and they are investigating every aspect of the case including professional rivalry. As of now, we do not see any foul play. Details of the investigation will be shared once it is completed.”
So, far the cops have suspected no foul play in the matter. Around 30 people have been interrogated so far by the cops. The late actor’s family has not made any demand for CBI probe but some friends and relatives feel that a thorough probe is required. Several people like YRF’s casting director Shanoo Sharma, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mukesh Chhabra and others were called for questioning by the Bandra cops. Earlier, statement of the doctor whom he was consulting for depression was leaked to the media. Later, he confirmed that he had not given any statement so far. It seems Sushant Singh Rajput was suffering from clinical depression.
Late Sushant Singh Rajput’s swan song Dil Bechara will be releasing soon on Disney Hotstar. It is made by Mukesh Chhabra who was instrumental in his debut, Kai Po Che. The actor plays the role of Immanuel Rajkumar Junior in the film.
