Glee star Naya Rivera was missing after a swimming accident at Lake Piru in California. The Ventura County sheriff’s department shared that they are investigating a possible drowning victim at Lake Piru. As per reports in Variety.com, a dive team and police investigation team were dispatched to the area. Now, the authorities said that the body of Glee star Naya Rivera was found on Monday at a Southern California lake. Ventura County Sheriff’s officials confirmed about the same during an afternoon news conference that the body that search crews found floating in the northeast corner of Lake Piru earlier in the day was that of Naya Rivera. This was discovered after five days after she went missing a Lake Piru and the authorities had informed that her son was found on July 8 asleep and alone on a rented pontoon boat. He was reportedly unharmed and he told the police investigators that he and his mother were swimming, but she never returned to the boat.
The body of the 33-year-old actress was flown 40 miles (64 kilometres) to the coroner’s office in Ventura, where an autopsy would be conducted, said the Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Buschow. The actress’s family has been informed about the same. Dozens of divers working in waters with little visibility searched for the body of Naya Rivera with help from sonar and robotic devices combing the bottom and helicopters and drones searching above. Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Buschow said, “I can’t imagine what it’s like for her parents, her family. It takes an emotional toll on the search teams too.” Rivera is best known for her role as Santana Lopez in “Glee”. She went on to appear in “Devious Maids” and “Step Up: High Water”.
Rest In Peace.
